The Old Boys’ Association of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia is celebrating 130 years of its formation this year.

It is perhaps the oldest Alumni Association in the world with a recorded history.

As a preliminary to the series of events planned to mark this milestone, the Special Events Committee is organising a “Walkathon” which will be held on Saturday 7th November commencing from Havelock Park at 3 p.m., with the participation of students and old boys of STC Mt Lavinia, Colpetty, Gurutalawa, Bandarawela, as well as parents and well wishers.

The “Walkathon” which is due to commence from Havelocks Sports Club grounds would proceed along Dickman’s Road, Duplication Road, Galle Road and would end at a Hawker Street Mini Carnival at S. Thomas’ College Mt Lavinia around 6 p.m. where there will be bands, food stalls, games of skill and other attractions..

Funds collected from the “Walkathon” will be in aid of the 2nd Phase of the “Senior Quadrangle Project” launched with the objective of providing modern classrooms and other related modern facilities for the students of STC.
