361 Degrees partners with IPM for another successful National HR Conference

361 Degrees, Sri Lanka’s leading integrated HR solutions partner, participated in yet another successful National HR Conference having partnered with the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) for the 2016 edition which was held recently at the BMICH in Colombo.

361 Degrees was the “Official Training and Engagement Partner” partner at the National HR Conference 2016 and is set to extend the partnership with the leading authority for HR studies in Sri Lanka, having inked an agreement to be the Strategic Partner for IPM for the next 2 years.

This was the 13th consecutive year that 361 Degrees - formerly known as Wild Drift – participated in Sri Lanka’s premier HR conference.

Chairman & CEO of 361 Degrees Rukmal de Silva was also nominated as one of the panellists who engaged with the audience during the panel discussion held on Day 2 of the conference.

During the 2-day event, 361 Degrees demonstrated their innovative thinking by organizing a unique competition where participants were given an opportunity to submit ideas on “Creating happiness at work” using what they learnt at the conference.

The ideas were collected via SMS and through the official Facebook fan page of IPM Sri Lanka.

The winner was given the option of choosing between 361 Singapore Dollars or a return air ticket to Singapore.

In addition to this, all participants were given an opportunity to obtain a DISC Survey, a behaviour assessment tool which focuses on four different behavioural traits, done free-of-charge.

The service, which included the online survey, report, analysis, and a free session of real life application and coaching, received a very positive response from the participants as they were able to get a clear understanding of their behavioural strengths and weaknesses.

Commenting on the company’s growing ties with the IPM, Rukmal De Silva - Chief Visionary Officer of 361 Degrees stated, “The IPM is the main body in Sri Lanka when it comes to all matters related to HR and the National HR Conference is known to be the most inclusive learning forum for the HR community in Sri Lanka.

Our partnership with IPM and our successful participation in the conference is further evidence of our position as the leading integrated HR solutions partner in Sri Lanka.

We look forward to further boosting our relationship with the IPM in the coming years as both organization continue on this journey to transform the HR landscape in Sri Lanka.”

Expressing his views on the conference, Dulendra Udukumbure – Growth Artist of 361 Degrees stated, “It was a very successful National HR Conference for the 361 Degrees team and we are proud to play an active role in the event.

We were thrilled by the enthusiasm of the large crowds that visited our stall.

Being nominated as the ‘Official Training and Engagement Partner’ meant that there was an increase in the number of individuals and corporates who came to us for their HR solutions.

We were able to interact with them and make a positive impact as to how we can help them reach the next level, both as individuals and as organizations.”

Since its inception back in 2001, 361 Degrees has successfully carried out training programmes for over 220 entities in both Sri Lanka and overseas, conducting a total of over 1,600 training programmes during this period.

The company continues to provide innovatively practical and tailor-made learning solutions for a wide variety of clientele through upskilling, engaging and aligning people at work.

361 Degrees recently launched its breakthrough approach to training - the ‘Thank God It’s Monday’ approach - which focuses on enabling people to ‘Be Better, Be Happier’ at the workplace.

This methodology was a culmination of 15 years of intensive research and experimentation as Sri Lanka’s leading HR solutions partner.

It states that creating happiness at work boils down to 5 distinct inter-connected feelings - how strongly does an employee feel that he or she belongs to the organization ("I belong"), how much rapport do they feel with their team ("We are a team"), how well does the organization's leadership and structure make them feel enabled ("I am enabled"), how much of a sense of growth and development do they have ("I am growing") and how excited are they about what they do ("I am passionate"). Accordingly, all of the company’s HR solutions, which broadly include Team Building, Leadership, Engagement, Innovation, Strategy and Soft Skills, focus on increasing the degree to which the individuals experience these 5 distinct feelings.
