SLIIT 'RoboFest 2014' Concludes in Style

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at SLIIT, conducted the exciting robotic competition 'RoboFest 2014' recently.

With many entries from all over Sri Lanka, this year's competition too was open to both school and undergraduate students island-wide.

At the recently concluded RoboFest 2014, winners of the School category for the best robotic design was the team from Mahinda College, Galle. Two teams from Maliyadeva college, Kurunegala emerged second and third. These winners walked away with Rs. 50,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 10,000 for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.

In the University category of the competition SLIIT, University of Peradeniya and General Sir John Kothlawala Defense University emerged first, second and third, securing Rs. 65,000, Rs. 45,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively, along with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

While Brandix was the main sponsor, Sri Lanka Telecom Pvt. Ltd, DBG Group, eMarketingEye(Pvt.) Ltd, Energynet Pvt. Ltd, Vallibel Power Erathna PLC, Sampath Bank Malabe branch, OREL Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Toyota Lanka Pvt. Ltd and DMS Electronics Pvt. Ltd joined hands as other sponsors of this event.
