Sri Lanka’s North and East bids ‘Vanakkam’ to Mahapola Lotto

Mahapola Lotto, the new lottery offering never before seen weekly grand prizes of up to Rs. 150 million, recently held another in its ongoing series of island-wide lotto awareness and education programmes, this time visiting the picturesque and burgeoning towns of Sri Lanka’s North and East.

Demonstrating its innovative, “pick your own numbers” lotto concept and technology in urban centres including Jaffna Town, Valvettithurai, Point Pedro and Nelli Adi, in the North, and Trincomalee, in the East, representatives of Mahapola Lotto successfully interacted with a highly willing audience consisting of area residents, bystanders, commuters and even trishaw drivers.

Particularly fascinating to the audience, who were also always excited to try their luck by picking their own numbers, was the state-of-the-art electronic lotto terminals, used to securely input customers’ lotto picks and print out their Mahapola Lotto tickets.

Held over five sunny days in mid-September 2014, by Mahapola Lotto along with staff from its main North and East distributor, this educational and awareness building roadshow also provided excited customer with promotional giveaways such as t-shirts, mugs and caps.

Having already extended its dealer network into the main towns of the North and East, following its initial rollout in Colombo and the South, Mahapola Lotto has been steadily expanding its presence across the island, investing heavily in skills development and creating even more job opportunities.

Mahapola Lotto has also committed itself to supporting the cause of higher education by contributing proceeds from its sales to the Mahapola Trust Fund.
