CA Sri Lanka Staff Welfare Society makes financial donation to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital

The Staff Welfare Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently made a financial donation to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital which was generated from the proceeds of the Rhythm of the 70s Musical Show organised by the Staff Welfare Society.

The cheque was handed over to Dr. Samadhi Rajapaksa, Head of the Counselling Unit of the Maharagama Cancer Hospital and President of the Cancer Care Association by Mr. Aruna Alwis, the Chief Executive Officer of CA Sri Lanka.

Appreciating the contribution by the CA Sri Lanka Staff Welfare Society, Dr. Rajapaksa emphasised that the donation was a valuable contribution to help protect the lives of others, especially children who were undergoing treatment at the hospital. Dr. Rajapaksa also made a presentation where he explained in detail about the various forms of cancer prevailing today as well as what sort of steps that can be taken to mitigate cancer risks.

During the presentation of the cheque, sponsors of the musical show, including Mrs. Champa De Silva, Manager of Bank of Ceylon, who were the main sponsor of the event and Mr. Milton Thilakarathne of Nanila Publications, as well as office bearers of the CA Sri Lanka Staff Welfare Society were also present.
