Hayleys Toastmasters Recognizes New Office Bearers for 2014/15

The Hayleys Group Toastmasters Club was launched in December 2010, when employees embarked on a mission to harness the power of effective public speaking for personal and professional advancement, becoming part of the world’s leading communication and leadership-skill building organisation.

In order to further strengthen its drive towards building communication and leadership skills amongst its members, the Club hosted its fifth installation ceremony on the 14th of August at Hayleys Conference hall.

The installation ceremony was attended by Hayleys Group Chairman and Chief Executive Mr. Mohan Pandithage as the Chief Guest along with the Co-Patrons of the club, Mr. Rizvi Zaheed and Ms. Surani Amarasinghe, both members of the Hayleys Group Management Committee. Distinguished Toastmaster Sudash Liyanage - LGM District 82 was the Guest of Honour at the event. The event was also graced by many prominent toastmasters in the island.

The new committee of the Hayleys Group Toastmasters Club was installed by TM Dushyanthi Adikary (Area Governor J1).

The Executive Committee comprised of Ajitha Perera (President), Dilshan Dissanayake (Vice President – Education), Thilanka Madawa (Vice President – Membership), Rukshan Cooray (Vice President – Public Relationship), Erangika Abeysirigunawardena (Secretary), Dinesh Chandrawansa (Treasurer), KUS Warnajith (Sergeant-at-Arms).

Finally the newly elected President of the Hayleys Toastmasters Club TM Ajitha Perera, elaborated on this year’s theme, ’Reach Out’. He elaborated that this means to strive to reach excellence and embrace new horizons by moving out of the comfort zones and becoming a charismatic club. Also describing his goals for 2015 he emphasized that achieving the Golden Gavel + award is one of the main goals.
