Three technology-driven innovations addressing key challenges in the apparel industry have become the first start-ups to make it to the incubator of Disrupt Unlimited, the Brandix-led start-up seed accelerator.

The stage is set for the latest edition of FACETS Sri Lanka 2014, the international gem and jewellery exhibition organised by the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA) for the 24th year. This year’s event will be held from 4th - 7th September at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre.

The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC the pioneer herbal - personal care products manufacturer once again illuminated the Rideegama, Ridee Viharaya temple situated in the Kurunegala district. The “Aloka Pooja” was carried out under the theme, “Swadeshi Khomba Aloka Puja Sathkaraya” and was held from 19th to 22nd August 2014, during the annual Esala festival.

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed an agreement with Alpine Clothing Nikeweratiya (PVT) LTD which is an Investment for a project to set up a Garment manufacturing plant.
