The seminar was held at Amaya Hills-Kandy, and Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle covering the DSL car tires dealer network island wide with the participation of the sales team of the tire department of DSL.
The seminar was conducted by the representatives of Continental Tires – Mr.Cornelius Chin-Min-Fong (Technical Sales Manager - Asia Pacific, APAC Export Market) & Mr.Shih Loong Chan (Assistant Manager – Technical Sales, APAC Export Market). At the seminar, the dealers were made well aware of the unique features of Continental PCR & SUV tires, the advance construction of the tire with enhanced endurance, and a general introduction of Continental AG.
Mr. Cornelius Chin, merely highlighted the Continental brand position in a global perspective and further highlighted the fact that the Continental is currently the 4th largest tire manufacture company in the world and has been positioned in the premium category too.
He has further mentioned the product segmentation and its unique facts which are specified for each segment – PCR and SUV.
It was emphasized the feature rankings such as Wet Breaking , Grip , Handling and Steering as well as Aqua planning , rolling resistance and shortest breaking distance for safet and comfort for each tire pattern.
The fastest moving patterns in Sri Lanka are Conti Sports Contact, Conti Max Contact and Conti Premium Contact patterns and all these patterns are made with superior German technology after number of research & developments.
Mr. Chin also revealed the new addition to the Continental PCR Product Line – Continental Sports Contact 6 (SC6) with the Black Chilli application which gives the maximum grip in all directions enabling the superior driving experience.
This tire is also constructed with many advanced features such as Force Vectoring which gives a maximum control with the unique tread pattern and Aralong 350 technology – The new adoptive Hybrid Cap ply for maximum stability.
Mr. Shih Loong followed presenting an interactive session on the unique features of Continental tires and explained as to why choose Continental and gave a clear comparison with other competing premium brands.
It was a very useful session where Mr. Loong presented the videos and pictorials of the construction of the Continental tire and given very valuable tips on how to read the indications on the tire wall.
Mr. Loong’s advises on other basic tire knowledge were extreme useful such as Inflation pressure, Tire Rotation, Load index, and other valuable tire safety tips which are generally a tire dealer and a vehicle owner should be aware of.
It was a very successful seminar that DSL has hosted and the respective participants were indulgence with a fellowship dinner too.
