Life insurance leader Ceylinco Life has come to the aid of the Haldummulla Vidyalaya in the Haputale Division of the Badulla District by building a classroom block for students of Grade 4.

The 600 square-foot classroom building donated to the school recently is the 64th such classroom building donated by the company to a rural school in Sri Lanka.

Haldummulla Vidyalaya, which is administered by the Zonal Education Office Bandarawela, has a student population of 269 in Grades 1 to 11, and a teaching staff of 27.

The school had four single storied buildings before Ceylinco Life’s donation of a fifth building.

The construction and donation of the classroom building was done under Ceylinco Life’s long term community initiative to support education in under-served towns and villages across Sri Lanka.
