Hindu religious observances including Abhisheka poojas were conducted at Sri Kailasanathar Devasthanam, Maradana in February, to invoke blessings on the country as well as on the customers and staff of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon and their families as part of the Bank’s celebration of its 100th anniversary.

The Bank’s Chairman Mr Dharma Dheerasinghe, Managing Director Mr S. Renganathan, Chief Operating Officer Mr Sanath Manatunge, directors, senior management and present and past staff members participated in the ceremony.

A get together of more than 4,000 staff and Buddhist and Christian religious ceremonies have already taken place this year to mark the centenary of Commercial Bank and its forerunners, and the Bank has said that events to felicitate stakeholders, a country-wide community initiative that will benefit 100 schools and a large scale reforestation project are planned as part of the celebratory calendar for 2020.
