Businesscafe - Contributing to the ongoing relief response to support the nation’s effort to combat the ongoing third wave of coronavirus infections rising in Sri Lanka, Coca-Cola is making a further financial commitment of LKR 45 Mn.

This initiative intends to contribute to mitigating the transmission of the COVID-19 virus among frontline workers through the distribution of Personal Protection Equipment, and further distribute essential medical equipment.


It will also support in creating awareness on the vaccination drive and the importance of healthy sanitization practices in tackling the pandemic, creating impact amongst thousands of people.


The Coca-Cola system in Sri Lanka is working closely with health authorities to understand the most urgent needs, including critical locations that require equipment to stem the spread of the disease.


Coca-Cola has created a special “Stop the Spread” fund worldwide.


This fund will be channelized towards facilitating vaccine distribution, COVID safety kits (PPE - masks, gloves, sanitizer) and creating awareness around vaccination and sanitary practices to contain the spread of pandemic.


This programme is an extension of Coca-Cola’s continuous support in Sri Lanka’s battle against COVID-19.


In April 2020, Coca-Cola contributed Rs. 130 Mn. to strengthen the national response of minimizing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.


Throughout the year, Coca-Cola successfully donated 16,800 PCR Test Kits and 17,000 VTM to the Ministry of Health; distributed essential packs consisting of dry food, sanitary items and first aid to 6,175 vulnerable families; and implemented a disinfection programme in essential locations such as hospitals and police stations in Gampaha; making a difference in the lives of over 25,000 individuals in Sri Lanka.
