Senaro Motor Company honoured at National Business Excellence Awards 2025

Senaro Motor Company (Pvt) Ltd has become the Winner of the National Business Excellence Awards 2025 under the Manufacturing – Non-Traditional Sector.

Organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, the award ceremony was held recently in Colombo.

The National Business Excellence Awards, recognized as one of Sri Lanka's most esteemed accolades, celebrates organizations that demonstrate exceptional performance, sustainable practices, and strategic vision across various business facets.

Being honored with this award underscores Senaro's dedication to pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks within the manufacturing sector, particularly in the production of high-quality, "Made in Sri Lanka" motorcycles.

Senaro began its operations in 2003 as a motorcycle importer and has gradually expanded into local assembly and manufacturing.

A key turning point in its journey was obtaining a manufacturing and assembly license from the Government of Sri Lanka.

The company now operates under the Ministry of Industries’ Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for local manufacturing and assembly, which sets specific criteria for value addition and operational standards.

The company’s first locally assembled model, the Senaro GN 125, quickly gained popularity and has become a top-seller in the local market.

As a 100% Sri Lankan brand, the GN 125 has managed to stand alongside well-known international brands, showing the potential of locally assembled products.

Senaro recently launched the Click 150 scooter, which is also performing well in the expanding scooter market.

Senaro’s assembly operations currently maintain a minimum local value addition of 30%, in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Industries’ SOP.

This process has helped generate a large number of direct and indirect employment opportunities, contributing to the local economy and workforce development.

The company also opened the Senaro Experience Lounge in Colombo, a space where customers can interact with the brand and explore its vehicle range in a hands-on environment.

Having received many local and international awards in the past, the company is preparing for its next phase, which includes entering international markets.

It plans to introduce Sri Lankan-built motorcycles and scooters to a global audience, using its existing production base and growing expertise.
