SLT MOBITEL and Department of Pensions renew partnership to enhance digital access for state sector pensioners

Businesscafe - SLT-MOBITEL and the Department of Pensions (DoP) extended their longstanding strategic partnership, strengthening the shared commitment to enhancing digital inclusion for Sri Lanka's state sector pensioners.

The partnership reaffirms the successful collaboration building upon a relationship first established over a decade ago.

Through the renewed partnership, SLT-MOBITEL will continue to offer the special instalment-based device scheme exclusively designed for state sector pensioners.

The program supports pensioners to purchase smartphones and other digital devices at competitive market rates without the burden of large upfront investments.

The scheme's distinctive feature is the convenient payment structure, where monthly instalments are automatically deducted from pensioners' monthly pension disbursements, creating a seamless and stress-free experience.

SLT-MOBITEL has continuously enhanced its device offerings to include modern smartphones and broadband solutions, ensuring pensioners have access to the latest technology.

Pensioners participating in the scheme can obtain smartphones bundled with SLT-MOBITEL's renowned Upahara package specifically tailored for their needs.

The initiative has proven instrumental in bridging the digital divide for retired yet valued public servants, helping them to stay connected, informed, access important services online, participate in today's increasingly digital society, feeling empowered to face the modern world.

Beyond device provision, the partnership has also supported multiple pensioner events and health camps throughout its duration, showcasing SLT-MOBITEL's commitment to the overall wellbeing of Sri Lanka's retired public sector employees, playing a crucial role in improving the quality of life for Sri Lanka's retired public sector community.
