Sarvodaya Development Finance (SDF) comes forward to assist daily wage earners

Sarvodaya Development Finance (SDF), a licensed Finance Company approved by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, has come forward to assist in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In keeping with the purpose of SDF, Nilantha Jayanetti - CEO of Sarvodaya Development Finance handed over a portion of oneday salary of the SDF staff contribution to the Governor of the Western Province, Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonetileke.


The contributions will be utilised to bring relief to a large number of daily wage earners who are greatly inconvenienced by the curfew restrictions that have been enforced by the authorities in their attempts to curb the spread of the virus.


With their ability to earn a living disrupted, these individuals have been struggling to feed their families and the contributions by SDF is expected to bring about much-needed relief as they prepare for an uncertain future.


Nilantha Jayanetti – CEO of SDF stated, “The entire world has been hit hard by this pandemic and Sri Lanka is no different.


While taking precautions by staying home, we must also ensure that we find ways to help those in need, especially people such as daily wage earners who are unfortunately in a desperate situation at the moment.


As a company that is built on helping uplift the lives of the people, we felt strongly that our contributions should be directed towards these daily wage earners and give them hope for the future.”
