On receiving the award, the Secretary-General said:
“What an honour to receive this Lifetime Achievement Award and Justice Medal from O.P. Jindal Global University in New Delhi in front of some of India’s best and brightest youth during their graduation.
I say to the young and aspiring in our Commonwealth family, I am no different to you, if I can do it you can too.
My passion and belief in the law has grown year on year, and my determination to deliver ‘justice for all’ has grown too.
The law is a tool to use in the defence of others and any young person who wants to join the law profession should know that it is a noble profession, yes it is hard and it demands everything of you but it is also very fulfilling and worthy.”
