Bitumix launches the newest stage of its scholarship programmes

Businesscafe - Bitumix Private Limited, the leading company in the production and sale of bitumen and related products in Sri Lanka, has expanded fulfilling its corporate social responsibility by implementing the latest stage of the Bitumix Sisu Senehasa scholarship programme that provide financial assistance to students from low-income families.

Under this programme, financial assistance is provided to selected students from the Anuradhapura District who are excelled in their education.


The students are benefitted through this programme to complete their school as well as university education.


The scholarship programme, a concept of Bitumix Managing Director Ashoka Siriwardena, was first launched in 2014 by providing financial assistance to six students.


Over the past, hundreds of students have received assistance under this programme and successfully completed their school and university education.


In addition to providing monthly allowances, Bitumix also provides students with school books and other school items annually.


Bitumix is contacting students who receive scholarships under this programme over the phone, encouraging them to study, looking into their educational needs and building a close relationship with them.


Directing students who receive scholarships, and do not secure high marks for Ordinary Level (O/L) and Advanced Level (A/L) Examinations towards vocational education and supporting them to arm themselves with the necessary technical and vocational qualifications is another part of the Sisu Senehasa Scholarship programme.


In addition to the Sisu Senehasa scholarship programme, Bitumix provides school books and other school items to the children of their staff members.


Bitumix aims to further expand Sisu Senehasa and their scholarship programmes to brighten the future of children.
