ComBank plants trees in Kandy City as part of centenary celebrations

The focus of the centenary celebrations of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon moved to Kandy recently when the Bank engaged in a tree planting project in the hill country capital to mark the milestone.

The project to plant trees along E. L. Senanayake Veediya, one of the city’s main thoroughfares, was organised in collaboration with the Kandy Municipal Council, the University of Peradeniya and the Department of Forest Conservation.


Commercial Bank also distributed plants among government schools in the city as part of the project.


The Bank’s Chief Operating Officer Mr Sanath Manatunge, Deputy General Manager – Personal Banking Mrs Sandra Walgama, representatives of senior management and Managers and staff of Commercial Bank branches in the Central Region participated in these activities.
