Sunshine Holdings donates Multipara Monitors to aid battle against COVID 19

Businesscafe - Further supporting the national efforts to combat COVID-19, two subsidiaries of the diversified Sri Lankan conglomerate Sunshine Holdings PLC recently donated 16 fully-equipped Multi-Parameter (Multipara) Monitors worth more than Rs. 4 million.

Sunshine Medical Devices of Sunshine Healthcare Lanka contributed towards half the cost of six fully-equipped Multipara Monitors valued at Rs.1.65 million to the Army Hospital in Colombo.

Additionally, Sunshine Foundation for Good, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Sunshine Holdings, donated 10 Multipara Monitors to the National Hospital Colombo at the cost of Rs.2.3 million rupees.

A Multi-Parameter Monitor is a medical device for monitoring a patient’s vital signs, mainly used in an intensive care unit (ICU), hospitalisation, or Emergency Room (ER).

With the functions of real-time recording and displaying of patient’s ECG, body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation, these Multipara Monitors save the valuable time of frontline healthcare professionals who are treating critical patients, especially in ICUs.

Commenting on this donation, Sunshine Holdings Group Managing Director Vish Govindasamy said,

“At Sunshine, we are fully committed to supporting the national effort against COVID-19.

We believe this is a timely donation considering the immediate spike of COVID-19 cases over the last few months.

We are working closely with our strategic partners to assist healthcare institutions around the country to treat as many patients as possible during this critical time.

Sunshine pledges to continue to do its part to support the country’s needs at this time of need.”
