Vision Care teams up with CFW Summer 24

Businesscafe - Vision Care, Sri Lanka’s largest vision, hearing and eyewear solutions provider, extended its 10-year partnership with the Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) to its 11th year by once again collaborating as the “Official Eye and Hearing Care Partner” of CFW Summer 24 edition held recently.

In a new initiative, Vision Care leveraged this platform for promoting greater inclusivity and to raise awareness about hearing health, coinciding with World Hearing Week.

With over 1.5 billion people worldwide experiencing some form of hearing loss, Vision Care’s campaign at CFW 2024 aimed to educate and inspire a change in perceptions towards hearing loss and the use of hearing aids.

The initiative was aligned with the World Health Organization’s theme for World Hearing Day, "Changing Mindset," which seeks to combat the stigma associated with hearing loss and hearing aid usage.

The four-day extravaganza, held across multiple locations around Colombo, seamlessly integrated Vision Care's renowned eyewear and hearing aid brands into the creations of esteemed designers including Asanka De Mel (LOVI), Fouzul Hameed, Kamil Hewavitharana, Darshi Keerthisena, Dinushi Pamunuwa alongside emerging talents such as Chihiro Fernando, Gayanth Karunarathne, Prathibha Liyanarachchi, and Maleesha Perera.

Harsha Maduranga, General Manager of Vision Care, shared his excitement, stating,

“CFW has always been a platform for innovation and forward-thinking, and this year, we are proud to take it a step further by highlighting the intersection of fashion and healthcare.

By championing inclusivity and raising awareness about hearing health, we aspire to cultivate a more inclusive fashion industry that celebrates diversity in all its facets.”

Colombo Fashion Week, an evolving project since its inception in 2003, aims to drive progressive change in every aspect of the fashion industry in Sri Lanka.

Focused on nurturing the next generation of Sri Lankan fashion designers, CFW continues to be a vital platform for innovation, creativity, and the intersection of fashion and culture.
