Upgrades in Moratuwa, Pasyala, Karandeniya, Ruwanwella, Kalmunai, Hatton, Panadura, and Digana have been completed.
Each branch was evaluated individually to refine zoning, layout, and furniture alignment for optimal functionality.
A notable highlight is the Karandeniya branch, where a unique strategic design approach was adopted by incorporating cinnamon wood into the interior elements.
This material choice was intentional and culturally relevant, as cinnamon cultivation is a primary source of income for the local community.
Technology was central to the project’s success.
Using advanced 3D modelling and immersive walkthroughs, Nex-Gen enabled precise spatial planning, expediting decision-making and minimising design revisions.
This digital-first approach ensured precision and agility throughout the project lifecycle.
The key challenge was blending the formal tone of financial institutions with a more inviting, community-oriented ambience.
Despite tight deadlines, Nex-Gen produced 3D interior designs for each branch within approximately one week, maintaining site-specific customisation and executional rigour.
Kularuwan Gamage, Head of Operations and Administration, Sarvodaya Development Finance PLC, further added:
“We wanted to create environments that feel fresh, accessible and familiar to grassroots and rural communities.
Nex-Gen understood our vision and delivered beyond expectations.
With six sites completed and three more underway, we are committed to extending this concept across our entire branch network.”
Speaking on the project, Hasith Prematillake, Managing Director, Hayleys Fentons, commented:
“This initiative demonstrates our ability to translate client needs into tangible, impactful design solutions.
Through advanced 3D visualisation and strong collaboration, we’ve shown that any design requirement can be brought to life with precision and purpose.”
Rashmika Samaranayake, Deputy General Manager, Nex-Gen Engineering Studio, stated:
“This project was about reimagining how financial spaces connect with people on a personal level.
The challenge was moving away from the expected corporate feel, while still retaining the brand’s formal identity.
Our team ensured each branch felt functional, inviting, and authentic.”
