Hennessey Unveils 25th Anniversary HPE800 Ford Mustang

The horsepower mavens over at Hennessey Performance celebrate their 25thanniversary this year, and to pay tribute to the last two-and-a-half decades, Hennessey revealed a special variant of theHPE800 Ford Mustang.

Essentially, this is a visual upgrade to the already-available HPE800 super 'Stang.

Underneath the hood, a 2.9-liter supercharger is perched atop the 5.0-liter V-8 engine.

Substantial upgrades are made to both the fuel and the intake system, including heavy-duty injectors, fuel pump, and custom intake ducting.

Hennessey also subjects the HPE800 to rigorous dyno tuning to ensure the car meets the horsepower requirements.

How much power? The HPE800 puts down 804 hp and 648 lb-ft of torque, enough thrust to slingshot the Mustang to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, and on its way to a top speed north of 200 mph.

Since this is a muscle car, Hennessey also pointed the shapely Mustang nose down a dragstrip, where it ran a rapid 10.7 seconds at 133 mph.

To differentiate the 25thAnniversary from the rest of the HPE800 crowd, the special edition comes saddled with lotsof anniversary badging on both the exterior and interior of the car.

Special attentionis given to the unique plaque mounted on the inside, indicating the car's build numbers.

If you want one, you'd better give Hennessey a call soon, as the tuning shop says they will only build 25 units.

If you are one of the lucky 25, you can have your new dragstrip weapon in either coupe or convertible form, with either an automatic or manual transmission.
