STC TechSphere 2026 Brings Global Engineering Leaders to Colombo
Swedish Trading Company (Private) Limited (STC), one of Sri Lanka’s most established industrial engineering solutions providers, successfully hosted STC TechSphere 2026 on 3 February 2026 at the Shangri-La Colombo, bringing together industry leaders, engineers, business owners, and international principals for an evening of technical knowledge-sharing and industry dialogue.
Held under the theme “Legacy of Excellence – Building on Decades of Trust,” the event marked over 40 years of representation of global engineering brands Atlas Copco and SKF in Sri Lanka, while also introducing SUTO iTEC of Germany, a specialist in compressed air measurement and monitoring solutions, as STC’s newest principal partner.
Founded in 1968 by visionary entrepreneur the late Mr. Chandra Senanayake, Chandra Senanayake Holdings has grown from a family enterprise into a diversified conglomerate.
Swedish Trading Company, established in 1982 as a joint venture with Sweden’s Elof Hansson Trading House, has since evolved into a trusted engineering partner serving sectors including manufacturing, construction, aviation, marine, paper and pulp, fire safety, and specialised vehicles.
The event featured technical presentations by regional leadership teams from SKF, Atlas Copco, and SUTO iTEC, focusing on energy-efficient compressed air solutions, predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, and smart digital monitoring systems aligned with Industry 4.0 applications.
An exhibition-style display area showcased advanced technologies introduced to the Sri Lankan market.
A high-level panel discussion brought together Lasith Senanayake, CEO and Director of Swedish Trading Company, Chetandeep Singh, National Sales Head - Industrial Aftermarket for India,
Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka at SKF, Khalid Sheikh, General Manager - Atlas Copco Singapore and Malaysia, Thomas Fischer, Founder and CEO of SUTO iTEC, and Eng. Ruwan Wijemanne, Senior Energy Expert and Operations Manager at the National Cleaner Production Centre.
The discussion explored how global engineering solutions can enhance productivity, sustainability, and competitiveness within Sri Lanka’s industrial sector.
