A series of internal and external events and activities were organised to mark the occasion, including the DFCC Staff Quiz, the flagship event, and various internal communications and activities that included inspiring quotes, podcasts, and other efforts to promote team spirit.
The week started with heartfelt messages of inspiration and dedication from CEO Thimal Perera and Senior Vice President, Head of Retail Banking and SME, Aasiri Iddamalgoda.
Their thought-provoking insights highlighted the significance of teamwork in delivering remarkable customer service.
They also took a moment to appreciate all the hard work and sacrifice that makes outstanding customer experiences possible.
The week's highlight was undoubtedly the DFCC Staff Quiz, an exciting competition that brought together staff members from across the Bank's extensive Islandwide branch network.
22 teams, each representing one of the nine branch regions and departments, participated in this exciting and intellectually stimulating contest.
The event was held at Cinnamon Lakeside and was followed by an evening of camaraderie and fellowship, which was a rare moment as the diverse teams of the Bank converged at a single location to mark International Customer Service Week.
Competition was fierce during the DFCC Staff Quiz, with the top two teams engaging in tiebreaker rounds to determine the champion.
Team 'R03 Super Kings', representing Region 3, emerged victorious, clinching the prestigious Gold Prize valued at Rs. 50,000/-.
Their exceptional performance, with an impressive score of 41 out of 50 across all five rounds, highlighted their knowledge and remarkable teamwork.
The teams 'Mind Benders' from Head Office and 'Central Quiz Masters' from Region 5 secured the Silver and Bronze Prizes, respectively.
Team 'R03 Super Kings' was led by Sandesh Dissanayake, Branch Manager – Maharagama, and included Niranjali Wijesinghe, Branch Manager – Nugegoda; Udesh Kuragodage, Branch Manager - Kottawa; Janith Kooragama from Nawala Branch; and Ayesha Weerasinghe from Kaduwela Branch.
