365 days of ‘Ganu Denu’ with MasterCard

Marking 25 years of enabling world-class, secure paymentsin Sri Lanka,MasterCard today launched ‘MasterCardGanu Denu’ for all MasterCard and Maestro cardholders in the country.

The ‘Ganu Denu’ initiative looks to thank cardholders, and reward them, for transactions made through MasterCard.

“At MasterCard, we value every transaction made through our payment solutions and treat them with the same reverence as the auspicious Ganu Denu practiced in Sri Lanka during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year” said Mr. Vikas Varma, Area Head, South Asia, MasterCard. “Rewarding these transactions, ‘MasterCard Ganu Denu’ is our way of thanking cardholders for their continued support over the past 25 years that we’ve been in this market. We look forward to extending the spirit of trust and prosperity of GanuDanu beyond transactions, incorporating it into many more things we do in this market” he added.

As part of this campaign, MasterCard is offering 400 Cargills Food City vouchers worth Rs.10,000 each.All purchases of Rs.1,000 or more made on Maestro or MasterCard Debit or Credit cards at any merchant outlet within the country between August 20to October 20, 2014 qualify to earn points. Each transaction of Rs.1,000 or more on a MasterCard Credit card earns one point and each similar transaction on a MasterCard Debit card or Maestro Card earns two points. The top 400 cardholders earning the highest number of points at the end of the 2 month campaign would be awarded the Cargills Food City vouchers.

Having identified the island nation as a key market in the South Asian region, MasterCard has renewed its focus on Sri Lanka. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response from customers for its recently concluded Spend and Win promothat offered Rs.8 million worth of stay vouchers at select properties of Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, MasterCard continues to roll out several country specific initiativeslike the Ganu Denu campaign.
