Siyapatha Finance Kicks Off National School level Tree Planting Project

Embodying two decades of growth and perseverance from its modest roots to service excellence, Siyapatha Finance PLC launched an islandwide school-level tree planting project and art competition in 20 schools across 13 regions.

Organized by Siyapatha Finance senior regional managers, regional managers, branch managers and staff, with the participation of school staff and guidance of the Siyapatha Finance senior management, each school planted 20 Mee trees (Mahua longifolia) representing the company’s 20-year-long journey in the financial services industry.

Sharing his thoughts on the project, Siyapatha Finance PLC Managing Director Mr. Ananda Seneviratne noted:

“As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are pleased to launch this school-level tree planting project as a gesture of our gratitude to the environment.

We need to constantly acknowledge that trees and nature are not only central to the survival of all living beings but vital for a sustainable future.

And this project goes beyond merely planting trees – it is about bringing young minds together and empowering them to embrace the power nature holds in all of our lives.”

Carried out under the theme of “Haritha Anagathayak, Thirasara Hetak”, meaning a greener future for a sustainable future, the art competition opened up an avenue for young talent to express their connection to nature through creativity. Each school selected 20 winners and distributed backpacks and certificates in recognition of their efforts.

Siyapatha Finance PLC Senior Regional Manager Mr. Amila Bambarandage remarked:

“First of all, it’s a great joy to us to make children a part of this milestone celebration.

This tree planting project has given us the opportunity to raise awareness and inspire the young generation to take action as thoughtful, compassionate leaders of the future.

We hope to continue these initiatives in years to come.”
