HNB brings back exciting Singithi Giftober promotion

Businesscafe - Sri Lanka’s most customer-friendly bank HNB PLC announced the return of its highly anticipated Singithi Giftober Savings month with a wide range of exciting gifts from jumbo penholders to exquisite HNB tea sets and vouchers of up to Rs. 100,000 for its minor savers in celebration of Children’s Day.

Encouraging children and parents to double down on their savings, the bank will offer minor account holders the opportunity to obtain maximum benefits on their deposits from October 5th to November 23rd.

“It is our pleasure to announce the return of the highly coveted HNB Singithi Giftober month.

This event has been one of the most anticipated annual promotions carried out by the bank.

It provides our most valued customers, the minor savers, with unprecedented benefits while encouraging them to double down on their savings for a financially secure feature.

“October has always been a special time of the year for us as we celebrate children’s day with a lot of fun activities.

Even though we have not been able to organize exciting games like we usually do and welcome our minor savers to beautifully decorated customer centres for their gifts, we wanted to make sure we did our utmost to provide our children with something exciting when it comes to savings,” HNB Deputy General Manager- Retail & SME Banking, Sanjay Wijemanne said.

Singithi depositors are entitled to the best value for their savings this year, with HNB offering an exciting range of gifts from jumbo tills and penholders, stationery packs, whiteboards, travelling bags and 12 piece HNB tea sets for deposits of Rs. 500 to Rs. 100,000.

Additionally, HNB partnered with leading merchants across the island to offer gift vouchers of up to Rs. 100,000, which can be redeemed at MD Gunasena, Sarasavi, Vijitha Yapa, DSI, Fashion Bug, DSI Bikes, Lumala, Abans, Damro, Singer, Arpico Supercenter, Softlogic, Mallika Hemachandra and Nithyakalyani jewellers.

“We have always worked towards ensuring that all our minor account holders have the option to live out their dreams as they grow up with the necessary financial backing.

Recently we incorporated new features to our extensive gift schemes as a further incentive to save,” HNB Head of Deposits Viranga Gamage said.

HNB extended its Diri Daru Grade 5 scholarship programme, the nation’s largest scholarship fund offered by a Sri Lankan bank, to all grade five students with Singithi accounts who achieve the cut-off mark.

The bank will reward every child who passes with cash rewards of up to Rs. 10,000, when they fulfill the required eligibility criteria.

The bank also introduced a Free Standing Order Guarantee Insurance Scheme to ensure that a standing order set to the child’s HNB Singithi and Teen savings account continues until they are 18, in the unfortunate circumstance of a parent’s death.

Working in partnership with HNB Assurance, the bank now guarantees HNB will continue to remit the monthly standing order set to the child’s accounts between a value of Rs. 1,000-25,000 until the child reaches the age of 18.

Singithi Kirikatiyo Account is specially designed for newborn children and can be opened by parents within three months from the child’s date of birth.

The account offers one of the highest interest rates and will gift a free deposit of Rs. 1,000 at the time of opening from HNB and entitling account holders with special gifts on their birthday relative to the account balance maintained.

On reaching the age of five years, each account will be automatically converted to an HNB Singithi account and into an HNB Teen account at 13.

With 254 customer centres across the country, HNB is one of Sri Lanka’s largest, most technologically innovative banks, having won local and global recognition for its efforts to drive forward a new paradigm in digital banking.

The bank was ranked among the World Top 1,000 Banks list compiled by the prestigious UK-based Banker Magazine for five consecutive years and declared Best Sub-Custodian Bank in Sri Lanka at the Global Finance Awards 2020.

HNB has a national rating of AA- (lka) by Fitch Ratings (Lanka) Ltd.
