Businesscafe - Sampath Bank dedicated its newest service point to the Sri Lankan public at the ‘Suhurupaya’ premises of the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Battaramulla.

This mini branch was declared open by Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka in the presence of Deepal De Silva, DGM - Operations & Branch Banking; Rajendra Ranasinghe, AGM - Inward Remittance / KPO / BNO; Udara Suraweera, AGM - Operations; Banduwarna Piyasena, Manager - Operations; Wajira Hewage, Manager - Inward Remittances; and Buddhike Dissanayake, Manager - Battaramulla Branch; from Sampath Bank as well as representatives of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the Department of Immigration and Emigration, and Sampath Bank.

An extension office of the Bank’s Battaramulla branch, this service point will offer a wide range of services from opening of new Rupee and Foreign Currency (FC) accounts and issuing of Debit cards to Sampath Vishwa online banking related services to advice and support on remittance services.

Going beyond taking financial services closer to its customers, Sampath Bank believes that this new location will enable it to raise awareness on the importance of sending and receiving money from overseas through formal channels at this location.

This is yet another initiative being undertaken by the Bank to support the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s efforts to encourage all Sri Lankans living and working around the world to send money to Sri Lanka through Licensed Banks (LBs) and other internationally accepted formal channels.
