CDB Embodies Empowering the Winning Spirit as Associate Sponsor of the Australia Tour of Sri Lanka

Businesscafe - Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) has stepped up to the crease to empower the winning spirit of Sri Lankans as the Associate Sponsor of the Australia Tour of Sri Lanka 2022.

As a progressive organisation that empowers aspirations, CDB came forward to sponsor the full international series in a show of support to the nation’s sporting legacy.

Long associated with Cricket at all levels of the game, the company has sponsored the Mercantile Cricket Association’s domestic tournament for many years, and also partnered the West Indies tour of Sri Lanka in 2021.

Australia tours Sri Lanka from June 7 to July 12, 2022, after a six-year gap since its last outing in 2016, to play a full complement of matches in all formats of the game.

The number one ranked test team in the world will play two test matches against the home side, with the Lions and Kangaroos also scheduled to face off in five One Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals.

“Cricket has always lifted the spirit of Sri Lankans, and we are humbled to be able to empower the winning spirit in the Sri Lankan team and the people during the Australian Tour.

Cricket Australia has been a true friend of Sri Lanka at all times, and it is our honour be an associate sponsor for the long awaited series.” stated Darshana Jayasinghe, Senior Deputy General Manager, Marketing at CDB.

The teams will compete in a power packed schedule of matches played in Colombo, Galle, and Kandy.

The tour starts with the first two T20Is on the 7th and 8th June, in Colombo before moving to Kandy for the last T20I on the 11th and the first two one-day internationals on the 14th and the 16th of June.

Colombo will play host to the remainder of the ODIs from the 19th to 24th June, before Galle entices the players down-south for the two test matches scheduled from 29th June to 3rd July and again from 8th to 12th July 2022 to conclude the series.

“Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka comes at a crucial time for the country and is therefore of extra significance.

As an organisation that has stood with the people at all times, CDB invites all Sri Lankans to extend the legendary hospitality we are renown for to the Australia team, and to enjoy the brilliant Cricket that is sure to be on display, in the true winning spirit of the game.” added Jayasinghe.
