CCC joins the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials PCAF

The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) the global industry-led initiative that enables banks, investors, and insurers to measure and disclose the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with their loans, investments, and underwriting activities, recently welcomed The Climate and Conservation Consortium (CCC) as Sri Lanka’s first Consultancy partner to be admitted into their exclusive Accredited Partnership Programme.

Attending PCAF’s members only workshop and training session conducted under the aegis of The London Climate Action Week 2026, CCC’s Director / CEO Sanith de S. Wijeyeratne joined representatives of key international financial institutions and other Non-Banking Financial Institutions, as well as Senior Advisory resources, in expertly moderated workshops and training sessions on PCAF’s methodology as well as listening to the experience of companies already making significant disclosures of their Scope 3 emissions.

The moderated workshop took participants of the PCAF community step-by-step through the lifecycle of measuring financed emissions, using two real-world case studies from PCAF signatories.

The session explored the key stages of measuring emissions related to financial activities, from scoping and initial calculations to iteration, communication, and application, highlighting common challenges and practical insights from implementation in practice.

“With the increasing regulatory push towards greater sustainability disclosures, there is a growing number of Banking and Financial institutions in Sri Lanka (and the region) that are looking at how to transparently and accurately disclose their share of emissions generated through their lending, leasing and financing activities” says CCC Director / CEO Sanith de S. Wijeyeratne.

“CCC has being leading the charge to improve the GHG emissions reporting in the country’s corporate sector for over 15 years and has identified the PCAF solution as the most viable source of authoritative emission calculations for the industry.

PCAF’s globally recognised methodologies provide financial institutions with a consistent and standardised framework to measure and report emissions associated with their financial activities, supporting alignment with emerging regulatory expectations.

This prompted us to seek this partnership and we are extremely thankful to have been provided this partnership opportunity.”

“We are encouraged to see a significant number of institutions in Sri Lanka, signing up to our pledge with a commitment to transparently disclosing their GHG emissions in accordance with the global requirements” says Poppy London PCAF’s Accredited Partnerships Manager for South Asia, Europe and Central Asia, North America, and MENAAP.

“Our PCAF signatories are financial institutions that collaborate to advance industry-wide GHG accounting methodologies.

Together, they have built a collaborative global community grounded in shared knowledge and action.

In Sri Lanka we very pleased to now have a partner with the breath of GHG experience that CCC has, and I have no doubt that they will be an invaluable facilitator for the Financial Services industry to fully comply with their pledges.”
