Colombo needs better, managed parking

Colombo is in need of better, managed parking as the city continues to grapple with congestion on the streets.

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) recently launched "Empower", a listing platform fostering capital raising and growth opportunities for Sri Lankan Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

10km CCR Charity Run on July 29

Colombo City Running (CCR) is hosting a 10km run on Sunday, July 29, 2018, to raise awareness and funds for the Army Para Athletic Association.

Prioritizing its responsibilities of assisting communities during difficult times, Sri Lanka’s premier private healthcare service provider Nawaloka Hospitals organized a special CSR initiative on 12th June, to provide free medicine and medical services, including investigations like blood sugar checkup, for flood victims in the Rathnapura District.

The Brandix Group has been recognised as the largest corporate blood donor in Sri Lanka for the eighth consecutive year, following the selfless contribution of over 4,000 pints of blood from inspired employees to the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) in 2017-18.

A week-long environment awareness campaign that culminated with an island-wide sapling planting initiative and a ‘Green Walk’ in Colombo, was successfully carried out by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka (GBCSL) with support from Brandix, an inspirational practitioner and advocate of eco-friendly manufacturing.

In an effort to promote greater emphasis on the role of a responsible and accountable pharmacist in Sri Lanka’s healthcare industry, Medicinal Drugs Committee of Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) together with the Sri Lanka Chamber of Pharmaceutical Industry (SLCPI) conducted a special workshop for pharmacy sales assistants from Colombo District to further upgrade their knowledge on local and global pharmacy trends.
