The management and employees of Allianz Sri Lanka recently joined hands with University Hospital of Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) to provide a High Performance Real Time Quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) machine worth Rs. 4 million to test for COVID-19.

The Alumni Association of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka recently donated medical equipment and other protective equipment to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH Hospital) in an attempt to lend their support in combating the global pandemic : COVID – 19.

Rotabats take care of Pregnant Mothers

Nearly 100 new mothers, from low income group families at Talangama Base Hospital were gifted with a “new baby” maternity kits from the Rotabats – a pseudonym for members of the Rotary club of Battaramulla recently.

In aim to contribute towards the combat of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Maliban Biscuits recently donated special cold storage facilities and highly essential medical equipment to treat infected patients, at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH).

The Association of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes (APHNH) in a statement to media said they are fully committed to and will continue to be a contributing force to the healthcare services in the country, in this critical time of the coronavirus pandemic.

With the country facing many challenges during these unprecedented times as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to expand, Omega Line Group which operates under the flagship of Italy-based Calzedonia S.p.A has stepped in to donate 400,000 safety masks to frontline healthcare workers in the fight against the infectious disease.

The financial donations were made to strengthen the COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund, by the People’s Bank Group and the People’s Bank Pensioners Association at the President’s Office on 31st of March 2020.
