The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT) honoured AAT students who achieved exceptional results at the GCE Advanced Level 2025 examination in the Commerce Stream at its Academic Excellence 2026 Felicitation Ceremony, held on 21 July at the AAT Auditorium.
The event celebrated AAT students who secured top district ranks and placements within the first 100 island‑wide, underscoring AAT’s growing role in developing academically strong, industry‑ready talent for Sri Lanka’s accounting and finance sectors.
The ceremony carried significant prestige, with Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri attending as Chief Guest.
A respected academic and leadership expert, Prof. Dharmasiri commended the students on their achievements and encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The event also brought together AAT’s Governing Council Members — Dr. Chamara Bandara - President, Theja de Silva - Secretary, Indraka Liyanage - Immediate Past President, Jagath Perera - member of the AAT Council, AAT staff, and proud parents and well‑wishers reflecting the organisation’s strong institutional presence and commitment to recognising academic excellence.
A key driver behind this exceptional performance is the strong alignment between the AAT curriculum and the GCE A/L Commerce syllabus, with approximately 80–85% content overlap.
This synergy enables students to deepen subject mastery, strengthen analytical skills, and build confidence in facing competitive examinations.
The integrated learning approach not only enhances A/L performance but also equips students with practical and professional competencies that provide a distinct advantage in higher education and future career pathways.
AAT students demonstrated outstanding national‑level performance, securing District First Ranks across nine districts - Kurunegala, Hambantota, Matale, Badulla, Jaffna, Nuwara Eliya, Puttalam, Vavuniya and Ampara, reinforcing AAT’s strong academic footprint and its ability to uplift students from diverse regions of the country.
Academic Excellence 2026 reflects AAT’s continued commitment to recognising and nurturing academic achievement while inspiring students to pursue excellence in both education and their future professional careers.
As one of Sri Lanka’s leading providers of professional accounting education, AAT remains dedicated to empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities required to become future‑ready professionals and responsible leaders who can contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic progress.
