The expo, now in its 22nd year, brought together more than 2,000 chefs from across Sri Lanka and abroad for one of the region’s biggest culinary competitions.
The chefs from Bally’s walked away with a total of 11 medals across various categories, reflecting individual talent and overall strength of Bally's culinary team.
In the Gold Medal category, M. Mayooran won for CBL Apprentice Desserts Live, delivering a dessert that stood out among hundreds of entries.
Two Silver Medals were awarded to Bally’s chefs. K. G. Pramuka Pehesara also competed in the CBL Apprentice Desserts Live category and secured silver.
E. A. T. Nilmini Edirisinghe earned silver in the Keells Apprentice Set Menu Live category, where participants were judged on their ability to create a well-balanced, creative, and well-executed meal under time pressure.
The team also earned a total of nine Bronze Medals in a mix of categories.
M. K. Sangeeth Perera won bronze in the CIC Twist of Taste category, while Y. S. S. Sandaruwan Silva and B. A. Janaka Pushpakumara were both recognised in the Prima Artisan Bread Creations category.
P. A. C. S. J. Prabhath Wijerathna competed in the Hot Cooking Seafood category and took home a bronze.
T. D. Suranga Abhenayaka received bronze in the Apprentice Zara Pasta Challenge, and Sandanam Paramasivam won in the Nestlé Fusion Sri Lankan Cuisine category. I. P. S. M. Pushpakumara Wijerathna secured another bronze in the Cargills Hot Cooking Live category, and R. A. D. P. Malshan Alwis was awarded bronze in Pyramid Wilmar Dress the Cake, a category focused on cake decoration and presentation.
The Culinary Art Food Expo is organised by the Chefs Guild of Lanka, in collaboration with WACS and CDC Events.
It features competitions, product showcases, live demonstrations, and exhibitions from local and international food and hospitality brands.
