The Arpico retail chain in Sri Lanka achieved a milestone in August with the opening of its 50th and 51st retail outlets, in keeping with a fast-tracked expansion plan to widen the brand’s presence outside urban and suburban locations.

The two Arpico ‘Daily’ supermarkets opened at Maggona and Bandaragama respectively are a microcosm of the Arpico shopping experience, representing the product diversity and multi-brand choice that are the hallmark of the larger Arpico Supercentres, the company said.

The Arpico Daily outlets offer fast moving consumer goods, daily essentials, dairy products, fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood, household items such as kitchenware, glassware and plastic items, toys, stationery, garden products and electronics.

The new outlet at No 471, Lorington Place, Galle Road, Maggona, offers a spacious customer parking area. It was ceremonially declared open by the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Dr Rajitha Senaratne in the presence of the Chairman of the Beruwala Pradeshiya Sabha Mr Kusman De Silva and Mr Noel Wickramasinghe, General Manager – New Project Development at Richard Pieris Distributors Ltd.

The second new Arpico Daily outlet opened at No 15, Thanayam Watta, Bandaragama, offers the same product range and has similar parking space. Its opening was attended by a team of senior officials of Richard Pieris Distributors Ltd.

The Arpico chain now comprises 16 Arpico Supercentres, 29 showrooms and six Arpico Daily mini supermarkets. The Arpico Supercentres, the company’s flagship outlets, offer extensive parking, bill payments, banking facilities, lifestyle needs and the widest range of products ranging from household goods, electronic appliances to kitchenware and furniture, with the promise to shoppers that they are the most convenient shopping destinations in the country.
