SLASSCOM Fit Hit 2026 Driving a Change in Workplace Culture

With Work having evolved to be faster and more demanding, many organizations are rethinking their approach, positioning employee wellbeing not as a perk, but as a critical foundation for sustained performance and growth.

It’s within this context that SLASSCOM introduced Fit Hit 2026.

Not just as a fitness challenge, but as a structured push towards better habits and stronger workplace culture.

What emerged was something more meaningful, a change in how companies engage their people, and how teams choose to show up for one another.

Bringing together organizations from across Sri Lanka, Fit Hit 2026 created a shared journey structured around four components: an expert-led podcast series on nutrition, fitness, and mental wellbeing; the 21-Day Step Challenge encouraging daily consistency; a Body Transformation Program focused on long-term personal change; and the 5KM Run that brought everyone together at the end of the journey.

The finale took place on 22nd March at Arcade Independence Square, where teams gathered not just to compete, but to reflect consistency, commitment, and collective energy built over weeks.

What stood out throughout the initiative was how participation evolved.

Engagement wasn’t driven only by HR functions; it was driven by teams themselves.

The most successful companies weren’t necessarily the fittest, they were the most consistent. Daily steps, shared accountability, and small habit changes became a proxy for something deeper: culture strength.

The competitive segments reflected this commitment.

In the 21-Day Step Challenge (Individual Category), Disnaka from SimCentric Technologies secured first place, followed by Thejhaan Koralage from Infomate as first runner-up, and Shavi Dias from HSBC as second runner-up.

In the Group Category, HSBC teams dominated the leaderboard, with HSBC (A) taking first place, followed by HSBC (B) and HSBC (C), demonstrating strong internal engagement and consistency.

The momentum continued at the 5KM Run. In the male category, Tharindu Wickramasekera from Iron One finished first, with M. Soundrajan from Cliftex Industries and Sanoj from Shirohaba as runners-up.

In the female category, Maheshi Yatipansalawa from Cloud Solutions International claimed first place, followed by Sashiprabha Dharmadasa from Just In Time and Hiruni Rajapaksha from IFS.

In the group category, Iron One Team A secured first place, followed by PSL Development and Iron One Team B.

Reflecting on the initiative, Shehani Seneviratne, Chairperson of SLASSCOM, emphasized the broader evolution Fit Hit represents.

“Wellbeing is no longer separate from performance, it’s becoming part of how teams collaborate, stay motivated, and build resilience.

Through Fit Hit, we are seeing organizations rethink how they engage their people.

When companies invest in consistent habits and shared goals, the impact extends beyond individual health into stronger workplace culture.”

Fit Hit 2026 was supported by AIA Group as the main sponsor, with Flash Health as the wellness partner and Fitness First as the fitness partner, each contributing to the overall experience and enabling participants to stay engaged throughout the journey.

The real measure of Fit Hit, however, won’t be the finish line at Independence Square.

It will be what happens on a Monday morning, weeks later.

If teams continue to show up differently, encourage one another, and carry forward the habits they built, then Fit Hit wasn’t just an event.

It marked an evolution, one that reflects a growing understanding that healthier teams build stronger organizations.
