A second major regional honour in three years extends Softlogic Life's run of international recognition in life insurance sales leadership
Softlogic Life has reaffirmed its place among Sri Lanka’s most decorated names in life insurance sales, with Sajeewa Pushpitha winning the ‘Rookie Insurance Agency Leader of the Year’ title at the 11th Asia Trusted Life Agents & Advisers Awards 2026 the latest chapter in the company’s growing record of international recognition.
Presented at a ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand on 19 August 2026, the award saw Sajeewa outperform a strong regional field, where the other finalists were Carolyn Xu and Liv Huang of AIA International Limited.
The win puts Softlogic Life’s sales talent ahead of some of the biggest names in Asian insurance.
The Rookie Insurance Agency Leader of the Year award recognises agency leaders with fewer than five years’ managerial experience who show strong production and recruitment, leadership, robust systems, professionalism and service to the industry; a bar Sajeewa cleared decisively, and one that speaks to the standards Softlogic Life holds its agency force to.
This latest win builds on Sajeewa’s landmark 2023 title of Insurance Agent of the Year at the 8th Asia Trusted Life Agents & Advisers Awards, following three consecutive years as a top-five finalist in the category an achievement few in the region can match.
Together, the two honours make Sajeewa, and by extension Softlogic Life, a recurring name at Asia’s most prestigious insurance awards platform, built on consistent performance rather than a single high point.
“Sajeewa’s journey reflects the standard of sales leadership we cultivate at Softlogic Life.
Following his previous recognition across Asia, this latest honour is a reflection of his commitment to consistent excellence.
It is a proud moment for Sajeewa, and it demonstrates the calibre of insurance professionals that Softlogic Life and Sri Lanka can produce on the regional stage,” said Softlogic Life Managing Director Iftikar Ahamed.
With more than two decades in the life insurance industry, Sajeewa has built one of the most extensive records of professional achievement in the market: active membership of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), with 16 MDRT qualifications, including 8 Top of the Table (TOT) recognitions—the highest number of TOTs within the company.
This is further complemented by multiple International Quality Awards from LIMRA and numerous accolades at Softlogic Life’s annual awards, reflecting his exceptional track record and the depth of talent within Softlogic Life’s agency force.
“Sajeewa’s recognition reflects the evolution from individual excellence to leadership that creates impact through others.
His ability to translate experience into stronger teams, professional discipline and consistent performance represents the kind of agency leadership we value at Softlogic Life.
We are immensely proud of Sajeewa, not only as a company, but as a country,” said Softlogic Life Deputy CEO Indu Attygala.
His shift into agency leadership has let him extend that experience beyond his own performance mentoring advisers, raising professional standards across his team, and creating space for emerging talent to build sustainable careers in life insurance.
“This achievement is especially meaningful as it mirrors my journey from individual performance to leadership and developing others.
I am grateful to Agency Premier Channel and to Softlogic Life for their continued trust and support.
Representing Sri Lanka on an international stage is a privilege, and this achievement motivates me to continue building capable professionals who can elevate our industry,” said Sajeewa Pushpitha, Head - Agency Premier Channel.
The Asia Trusted Life Agents & Advisers Awards is the region’s leading platform for recognising excellence among insurance agents, advisers and agency leaders.
Organised by Asia Insurance Review and Asia Advisers Network, with LIMRA as co-organiser, the awards honour professionals for performance, client service, professionalism, leadership and contribution to the industry.
Judging runs in two stages: finalists are first shortlisted through remote scoring, then winners are chosen by deliberation and secret ballot from an eminent panel of industry leaders.
The process is independently audited, underscoring the rigour behind the recognition Softlogic Life has secured.
Sajeewa’s win cements Softlogic Life’s place as Sri Lanka’s leading force on the Asian insurance stage and shows a company committed to building an agency force that keeps setting the benchmark, for Sri Lanka and for the region.
