The competition, launched with the aim of fostering intellectual engagement and celebrating the exceptional talent of Sri Lanka's future workforce, has garnered immense participation and enthusiasm from universities across the nation.
The Inter-University Quiz Competition, is a testament to Union Assurance’s commitment to actively contribute to the development and empowerment of young minds across Sri Lanka.
It embodies a key pillar of the Company’s strategic plan, focusing on nurturing young talent and contributing to the sustainable progress of Sri Lanka's economy and society.
This year's competition saw an impressive turnout, with 380 individuals forming 76 teams from 18 state and private universities vying for the championship.
Following rigorous competition, the initial round led to the selection of 10 teams for the semi-finals at the Union Assurance Head Office in Colombo.
From these semi-finals, four teams emerged victorious to compete in the Grand Finale.
The Grand Finale, held on the 9th of March 2024 at the Grand Ballroom of Galadari Hotel, was a thrilling display of knowledge and teamwork.
After an exciting battle of wits, Team Mavericks from the University of Kelaniya emerged as the champions of the inaugural Inter-University Quiz.
Team Mind Masters from General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University secured the position of 1st Runner Up, while Team ICBT from ICBT Campus claimed the title of 2nd Runner Up.
