The Lab Portal empowers patients with the convenience of viewing both their historical and recent reports directly on their smartphones, offering a seamless and efficient approach to healthcare management.
This is a first for Sri Lanka and underscores Hemas Hospitals’ commitment to digital enablement and patient-centric care.
Discussing this new feature, Dr Dushyanthan Subramaniam, Director of Hemas Labs said,
“This innovative portal marks a substantial leap forward in delivering healthcare services to our patients, greatly improving their overall experience by enabling convenient access to their reports.
This new facility demonstrates our commitment to ongoing innovation.
We believe this is a significant step forward towards seamless, digitally-enabled and proactive healthcare management and invite our patients and the public to take advantage of this tool.”
One of the standout features of the Lab Portal is its provision to showcase the trend of investigations, allowing patients to compare and analyse current results with their previous test results.
This not only empowers individuals to track their health progress but also allows doctors to gain a deeper and more holistic understanding of a patient’s medical history.
Using the Hemas Lab Portal is simple, patients simply need to provide their mobile number at the billing counter during lab test payments.
Upon completion of the test, a secure SMS containing a link to the report will be sent to the patient.
For further protection of privacy, access to medical reports is also secured by an OTP (One-Time Password) received through SMS, guaranteeing the confidentiality of sensitive medical information.
Patients who have shared their mobile numbers for billing since 2018 can access a comprehensive archive of their lab reports.
Moreover, the Lab Portal extends its functionality to allow individuals to view reports of their loved ones, such as parents or children, if that phone number is also provided during billing.
Confidently embracing the digital era, Hemas Hospitals assures patients that lab reports will be stored securely in the cloud for a lifetime.
This eliminates concerns about losing physical copies and offers a sustainable solution by minimizing the use of paper materials, aligning with the hospital’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
This also provides peace of mind for patients as they do not need to physically track and carry their reports.
In Sri Lanka, Hemas Hospitals has pioneered the adoption of Electronic Health Records (ERH) – paperless health records that allow for utmost privacy, combined with instant accessibility, allowing for superior and efficient, timely and precise, personalized patient care.
Accordingly, Hemas Hospitals’ Lab Portal stands as the sole platform offering patients access to both their lab reports and historical trends in results.
This advancement aligns with the hospital’s dedication to enhancing patient-centric care through technology, ensuring that individuals can actively engage in managing their health with ease and efficiency.
