Allianz Lanka Expands Flagship CSR Initiative Allianz Protect with 1550 Child Safety Helmets Distributed Across 30 Locations

Allianz Lanka – one of Sri Lanka’s leading general insurers and a part of the global giant Allianz SE – remains steadfast in its commitment to road safety, with a particular focus on protecting children.

As part of this mission, Allianz Lanka will be carrying out its flagship CSR initiative “Allianz Protect”, from the 16th to the 23rd of September 2025, spanning 30 locations Islandwide.

This year marks the fourth consecutive year of this impactful program.

Many schoolchildren travel on motorbikes without helmets, putting them at serious risk.

To address this, Allianz Protect will distribute 1,550 helmets in 2025, including 250 contributed by HHCo Industries.

This year’s initiative is once again supported by the Sri Lanka Police, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between the two organizations.

Together, Allianz Lanka and the Police will ensure that deserving beneficiaries are carefully identified, children are educated on road safety, and proper helmet use is monitored during school hours.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Ranga Dias , Chief Distribution Officer at Allianz Lanka – said,

“At Allianz Lanka, children remain at the heart of our CSR efforts, and Allianz Protect is a clear reflection of that focus.

This program is not just about distributing helmets, it is about safeguarding the lives of our youngest road users and nurturing a culture of safety from an early age.

With 1,550 helmets being distributed this year across 30 locations, we are taking meaningful steps to protect schoolchildren and give parents peace of mind.”

Adding his perspective, DIG of Sri Lanka Police, Mr. Indika Hapugoda, mentioned,

"The Sri Lanka Police is proud to continue its collaboration with Allianz Lanka in advancing road safety through the ‘Allianz Protect’ initiative.

The distribution of child safety helmets goes beyond compliance, it is about instilling a life-saving habit from a young age.

By working together, we aim to create greater awareness among children, parents, and communities about the importance of protective gear, ensuring that the next generation grows up valuing safety as a fundamental aspect of daily life on our roads.”

The helmet distribution and awareness events will take place across Allianz Lanka branches and partner locations in Embilipitiya, Trincomalee, Ambalantota, Medawachchiya, Warakapola, Union Place, Gampaha, Nittambuwa, Nuwara Eliya, Ja-Ela, Dambulla, Matale, Matara, Aluthgama, Horana, Monaragala, Badulla, Wennappuwa, Kilinochchi, Wellawatte, Chunnakam, Wellawaya, Gampola, Nugegoda, Balangoda, Chilaw, Akkaraipattu, Kaduwela, Ratnapura, and Panadura.

With “Allianz Protect”, Allianz Lanka continues to strengthen its commitment to safeguarding the most vulnerable road users – children. By focusing its CSR efforts on protecting and empowering the younger generation, the company not only provides immediate safety but also invests in building a culture of responsibility, awareness, and care that will shape a safer future for Sri Lanka’s roads.
