Swadeshi is powering cleaner production solar energy system to reduce carbon footprint strengthens Sri Lankas energy resilience

The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC the pioneer herbal - personal care products manufacturer is going to power cleaner production with solar energy system to reduce carbon footprint & strengthens Sri Lanka’s energy resilience.

Swadeshi commissioned of its rooftop solar system, which will produce an estimated 712,800 KWH annually and is expected to offset approximately 498,960 kg CO₂ per year.


The system is a part of Swadeshi’s sustainability strategy to reduce emissions, cut energy costs and support the island’s renewable energy transition.

Sri Lankan corporates have successfully used rooftop solar to claim verified CO₂ reductions and strengthen brand reputation.

“Today marks a practical step in Swadeshi’s journey to sustainable operations.


Our solar project will reduce our dependence on fossil fuel electricity, lower operating costs and deliver measurable carbon reductions — and we will publish independently-verified results so the public can see the impact.”


This initiative is focus under the theme, “Swadeshi
Khomba Mihithala Sathkaraya”.
