NDB Investment Bank Limited Appoints Harshana Jayaweera as Chief Executive Officer

Businesscafe - NDB Investment Bank Limited has announced the appointment of Harshana Jayaweera as its Chief Executive Officer, effective from February 2025.

With a remarkable career to date spanning over 25 years, Harshana brings extensive global experience across Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth Management, Trade and Structured Finance, Cash Management, Risk and Analytics, Private Banking, Financial Advisory, Capital Markets & Syndications, Mergers & Acquisitions, Financial Strategy, Regulatory and Compliance and several other industry segments.


His professional journey includes leadership roles with prominent financial institutions in Switzerland, the Middle East, and Sri Lanka.


Before joining NDB Investment Bank Limited, Harshana most recently served as a Director at GRIP (DIFC) Limited, an investment bank based in the Dubai International Financial Centre while also playing a pivotal role for Alchemy Investments Acquisition Corp 1, a NASDAQ-listed Special Purpose Acquisition Company.


Additionally, Harshana was the Chief Business Officer at Acuity Partners Limited in Sri Lanka.


Earlier in his career, Harshana was Director of Investment Banking at ADSS Group, a leading international brokerage in the United Arab Emirates, and Vice President at Credit Suisse AG in Zurich, Switzerland, where he specialized in International Wealth Management for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.


His expertise was key in executing high-profile transactions at both ADSS Group and Credit Suisse.


Prior to his time at Credit Suisse, Harshana served as Country Head for the United Arab Emirates at Bank ABC (formerly Arab Banking Corporation) and carries valuable experience at BNP Paribas S.A. in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and Emirates NBD (formerly Emirates Bank International). In Sri Lanka, he has worked with Nations Trust Bank PLC and Sampath Bank PLC.


Harshana has a Master of Business Administration (with Merit) from the University of Leicester, UK, and has also completed the Executive Management Program in International Management conducted by Stanford Graduate School of Business (USA) and National University of Singapore Business School (Singapore).


He is an Alumnus of the National University of Singapore and an Affiliate Member of the Stanford University Club of Singapore.


He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Management Institute (UK) and certified in Marketing of Financial Services as well as Banking & Finance from Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka and Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK) respectively.


He is also certified in Fintech, Blockchain, and Sustainable Finance by Harvard Business School and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
