Kavin currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of First Capital Asset Management Limited, a position he has held since April 2025.
Bringing over 23 years of comprehensive expertise in treasury and investment banking, his appointment further strengthens the Company’s leadership and governance framework.
A seasoned financial professional, Kavin is a Licensed Investment Advisor (CSE) and possesses significant proficiency across multiple domains, including fixed income dealing, foreign exchange, asset and liability management, corporate finance, and fund management.
His deep industry exposure has been shaped through both local and international engagements, including notable tenures with leading financial institutions such as Nations Trust Bank, DFCC Bank, and the National Savings Bank.
Kavin’s academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK.
He also holds a Dealing Certificate awarded by the ACI Financial Markets Association, Paris, underscoring his commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence.
Over the course of his career, including more than seven years with First Capital, he has undergone extensive training in treasury operations, investment management and asset and liability management.
With this appointment, the Board of Directors of First Capital Asset Management Limited now comprises, Nishan De Mel - Chairman / Independent Non-Executive Director, Kuda Banda Herath - Independent Non-Executive Director, Dilshan Wirasekara - Non-Independent Non-Executive Director, Kavin Karunamoorthy - Newly Appointed Non-Independent Executive Director / CEO.
