This annual event, organized with the generous support of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and the School Volleyball Association of the Ministry of Education, holds a significant place in the history of Sri Lankan volleyball.
Since its inception in 1999, the DSI Supersport Schools Volleyball Championship has been a cornerstone in nurturing talent, both in rural and urban areas of Sri Lanka, and providing young athletes with a national platform to showcase their skills.
With an impressive journey that has seen the participation of nearly 400 sports personalities, this year's championship has witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with over 5,000 teams competing from across the island.
The tournament featured intense competition at district, provincial, and national levels.
Teams securing the top two positions at the district level advanced to the provincial level, after an intense contest in July and August 2023.
The best teams from the provincial competitions, including the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers, earned their spot at the national level, which took place in August and September 2023.
The championship features various age categories, including under-11 boys and girls, under-13 boys and girls, under-15 boys and girls, under-17 boys and girls, and under-19 boys and girls.
