Businesscafe - The stage is set for a thrilling badminton extravaganza as the Northern Province prepares to host the prestigious Northern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship.
Shuttlers from across the nation are now invited to showcase their talent at the highly anticipated competition.
Organized by the Northern Province Badminton Association, affiliated with Sri Lanka Badminton, the tournament is classified as a level-1 national ranking event.
From October 31 to November 5, the Northern Province Indoor Badminton Sports Complex in Kilinochchi will host intense action, bringing together the best in the sport.
Applications are currently open and will close on the 20th of this month, offering badminton enthusiasts a unique opportunity to shine in the national spotlight.
The championship features a range of categories, ensuring a diverse and competitive playing field.
These include the Junior category, encompassing under 11,13,15, 17, and 19 years boys and girls singles and doubles events.
The Senior category is equally comprehensive, featuring men's and women’s singles and doubles,and categories for players over 30,35,40,45,50,55,60,65and over 70.
The Open category is set to excite with men's and women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches.
Apart from the coveted championship titles, as well as runner-up and semi-finalist honours, the winners of the titles will also be rewarded with certificates in addition to a substantial prize money pool of one million rupees.
