Sri Lanka hosts series of international triathlons in 2020

CeyEndurance, the triathlon series of Divinsan Pvt Ltd announced the launch of Sri Lanka’s first international and national series of triathlons commencing in early 2020.

The press conference was held at Shangri-La, Colombo on January 6 2020, under the leadership of Divinsan Pvt Ltd, Managing Director - Dinesh Fernando.


The 2020 series of triathlon events, endorsed by Sri Lanka Triathlon (SLT), partners with Triathlon Club Colombo, Endurance Lab and Volunteer Nation as Collaborators; Shangri-La, Colombo as the Hospitality Partner; and Quire Sri Lanka & NewsPublisher as the Content & Public Relations Partners.


The press conference representatives Director Co-Founder, Triathlon Club Colombo - Denis Crassier, Secretary General, Sri Lanka Triathlon - Sam Wickramsinghe, Managing Director, Divinsan Pvt Ltd - Dinesh Fernando and Director - Commercial Sales, Shangri-La, Sri Lanka - Chris McFall welcomed local media, internationally ranked triathletes as well as sports personalities from around the globe.


Speaking with Divinsan Pvt Ltd, Managing Director (an ardent sports and adventure personality) - Dinesh Fernando, noted “The absence of ‘Ironman’ for 2020 has created a vacuum amongst the communities, both local and foreign.


International Events such as these portray the country in many positive perceptions, aiding in renewing and opening up the country to new sports and tourism segments.


As triathlons and endurance sports continue to increase in popularity around the island, CeyEndurance will act as a platform to meet the demand for a local and International arena, catering to sports and fitness enthusiasts, as well as new entrants”.


The CeyEndurance 2020 Event Series appointed Khalid Oshman, Sri Lanka’s first visually impaired triathlete to compete on an international level, completing 3 Ironman 70.3 and 2 Marathons, as their Ambassador.


The event represented the launch of the CeyEndurance brand that was developed to cater to sports enthusiasts, as a means by which to elevate Sri Lanka to a higher global sports forum, spearheading and instigating the promotion of Endurance Sports in Sri Lanka as a location with rich bio diversities and multiple terrains which is a haven for this category of sports.
