South Asia Textiles Limited takes added precautions


As a BOI certified company operating in Sri Lanka since 2004, South Asia Textiles Limited complied and executed all the health and safety protocols in preparing the workplace for COVID 19 based on the directives of the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Sri Lanka and other government authorities to support the national efforts to mitigate the spread of it.

As a further precautionary measure, South Asia Textiles Limited suspended operations on the 8th of October 2020.


The Company further complied with the directive received from the Office of the Medical Officer of Health, Pugoda and carried out PCR tests on personnel commencing on the 10th of October 2020.


This was conducted in consultation with the representatives from the office of the Medical Officer of Health and the Public Health Inspectors of the area.

The results of the PCR tests carried out on 10 October 2020 revealed that, an employee (one) of South Asia Textiles Limited has been exposed to COVID-19 and tested positive.


All PCR tests conducted on other employees thus far have come in negative.

South Asia Textiles Limited is currently working in close coordination with the Government Healthcare Authorities and other relevant government agencies to facilitate the follow up action in this regard.

South Asia Textiles humbly request that the privacy of this individual be respected.


The Company further requests to avoid circulating unchecked information to avoid unnecessary panic within the community and country.
