DIMO Energy Broadens Solar Portfolio with Battery Energy Storage Solutions
DIMO Energy, the power and energy-related solutions cluster of DIMO has expanded its Solar Solutions portfolio beyond industrial and commercial applications to include residential offerings, while also entering Sri Lanka’s growing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) market under its rebranded and now dedicated DIMO Solar brand, which brings together integrated Solar + BESS solutions.
This move responds to the increasing demand for reliable and independent energy solutions across both homes and businesses.
The expansion comes at a time when energy storage has become prominent both globally and locally, driven by grid constraints, rising energy costs, and the accelerating adoption of renewable energy.
Industry analysts anticipate that battery-based energy storage will play an increasingly important role in Sri Lanka’s energy transition in the years ahead, supporting grid stability, enhancing self-consumption of solar power, and improving resilience against power disruptions.
Building on its long-standing presence in the energy and power engineering sectors, DIMO’s approach to BESS is centred around solution-led delivery rather than standalone product supply.
The company is working closely with globally recognised technology partners such as GoodWe, Huawei, Jinko, JA, and AE, while also engaging with other leading international brands to strengthen its energy storage portfolio.
DIMO’s BESS solutions will be offered across a modular range starting from 5 kWh, catering to residential, commercial, and light industrial energy storage requirements.
The portfolio includes compact, low-noise systems designed for everyday household use, as well as more robust high-voltage solutions suitable for larger homes and small-to-medium commercial applications.
These systems feature battery capacities ranging from 5 kWh to 16 kWh and can be scaled up depending on the storage requirements.
Commenting on the expansion, Shehan Amaratunga, General Manager - Power & Energy at DIMO, said the company’s competitive advantage lies in its ability to deliver end-to-end energy solutions rather than individual components.
“In a highly competitive market, our focus is not merely on providing a product, but on delivering comprehensive, customised solutions, from system design and engineering to installation, commissioning, and long-term after-sales support, leveraging globally trusted brands and our own technical expertise,” he noted.
DIMO Energy’s BESS portfolio features safety-focused design and dependable performance, incorporating multi-layered safety architecture to ensure secure energy storage.
The systems are also engineered for quiet operation, making them well suited for residential and commercial environments.
Reinforcing its reputation for service excellence, DIMO Energy has established a dedicated after-sales framework for its BESS business, with a commitment to respond to customer inquiries and service requirements within 24 hours.
In parallel, the company is developing mechanisms to improve the affordability and accessibility of energy storage solutions, with the aim of accelerating wider adoption across Sri Lanka.
Powering the Future, this expansion further reinforces DIMO Energy’s role across the energy landscape, supporting Sri Lanka’s transition towards resilient, decentralised, and sustainable power systems.
