Held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), the seven-day championship which is the world's second oldest amateur will witness all local amateur stars with over 60 golfers from countries such as Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand and Afghanistan.
The 128th Amateur Golf Championship of Sri Lanka is one of the most prestigious sport fiesta held in the country, and it is conducted by the Sri Lanka Golf Union (SLGU).
This is considered to be the oldest National Golf Championship in the world outside United Kingdom.

Founded in 1946, Sri Lanka Golf Union now spearheads the movement to advance golf in the island.
It is also responsible for organizing the annual Sri Lanka Amateur Championship which was incepted during 1891.
In addition to the main championship where any amateur golfer with a certified handicap of 14 and under is eligible to participate, it will also host a women’s event and an international team event.
The two best golfers in two rounds will battle out for the Palakamedi trophy whilst the Zia-Ul-Haq trophy championship will also take place.
A total 62 entries are confirmed of which 24 are locals and 16 internationals and the number is expected to increase, according to the organizers.
