CEAT supports education of children of rubber farming community in Hatharaliyadda

Businesscafe - A community-specific social responsibility initiative of CEAT Kelani Holdings recently benefitted students of the Palana Maha Vidyalaya, Hatharaliyadda, who received school bags, school shoes and exercise books from Sri Lanka’s leading tyre manufacturer.
This was the fifth such project carried out by CEAT under this initiative created to support the education of children of rubber cultivators, a critical element of the company’s supply chain.
CEAT Kelani sources 100% of its natural rubber from the domestic market, and supports the livelihoods of more than 10,000 families countrywide.
With this latest presentation of essential items, this programme has benefitted nearly 600 children from rubber farming communities in the areas of Matugama, Ratnapura, Galle, Moneragala and Kandy.
The formal presentation of this latest round of school supplies was attended by CEAT Kelani Chief Operating Officer Mr Shamal Gunawardene, members of the senior management of the company, CEAT dealers in the area, and the Principal, staff, parents and students of the beneficiary school.
