CEAT Racing notches up another 16 podium finishes at Gajaba Supercross

Another 16 podium finishes at the Gajaba Supercross has emphatically reiterated the dominance of the CEAT Racing team at meets of the 2014 racing season.

The team achieved three first places, three second places, six third places, four fourth places and one fifth place at this event, which concluded on Sunday, 31st August.

Upulwan Serasinghe with victories in the SLN 1500cc and the SLN 1300cc Ford Laser/Mazda races, and third place in the two SLH 1600cc races, and team mate Janaka Dias who secured first place in the second SLGT 3500cc race, came second in the two SLH 1600cc races and was placed third in the first SLGT 3500cc race, were awarded the Car Team Championship.

Janaka Dias was also adjudged the Best Driver at the Gajaba Supercross.

“It has been a fabulous year for the team, and for CEAT,” said Ravi Dadlani, Vice President Sales & Marketing at CEAT Kelani Holdings. “The team’s performance mirrors the success of CEAT radials on our country’s roads and race tracks, and as the principal supporter of motorsports in Sri Lanka, the brand has contributed a great deal to the growing popularity of racing.”

The CEAT Racing Team for the 2014-15 season comprises of Upulwan Serasinghe, Janaka Dias, Shashika Lakmal Wijerathna, Lalin Kirinda, Prasanna De Alwis, Lt. Colonel Duminda Jayasinghe, Lt. Colonel Indu Samarakoon, Ushan Perera, Pasindu Peiris, Jacques Gunawardhana and Deshan Solanki.

A global tyre brand present in 110 countries, CEAT is the title sponsor of the 2014 championship of the Sri Lanka Auto-sports Drivers Association (SLADA). CEAT Kelani Holdings has also extended its partnership with motorsport’s governing body Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS) for the third successive year, and is also the sponsor of several annual racing events conducted by the Sri Lanka Army and the Sri Lanka Air Force.
